Diablo
  1. A hero must rise. Diablo, the Lord of Terror, has fallen to a brave hero beneath the church of Tristram. Now that hero is gone, replaced by a Dark Wanderer who roams the world of Sanctuary leaving death and destruction in his wake. As a hero of humanity, you must face the minions of Diablo’s evil brothers and stop the Dark Wanderer before he.
  2. Prepare to relive the epic adventure that defined the action-RPG genre for decades. Today at BlizzConline™, Blizzard Entertainment announced Diablo® II: Resurrected™, the definitive remastering of the classic Diablo II and its expansion Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.

There are a variety of game commands you may type while in Battle.net chat or in the game. All commands are typed at the very start of the prompt, preceded by a slash. Use control+C and control+V to copy and paste messages while in chat. More text manipulation shortcuts are listed further down this page.

Diablo 2 Remaster Is Designed To Be Easier To Play, Not Just Easier Overall 'We want to remain faithful, so there's a difference between making the game easier and making the game easier to play.

Most commands can be used by just typing the first letter of the word. Instead of '/friends promote' just '/f p' for instance. Other shortcuts are listed in each section.

Friends Commands[edit]

All these can be used with /friends or /f for faster typing. They work in chat channels or in game.

A handy shortcut is to use the number of someone on your friends, after the % key, instead of typing their name. For instance, /f %7 will send a message to the 7th person on your friends list. Or /f p %5 will promote the fifth person on your user list (to the 4th spot, unless you specify a number).

  • /f: Shows help about these commands.
  • /f list: (or /f l) Shows all of your friends and their current status.
  • /f add (accountname): (or /f a) Adds the account name to your friends list. Maximum friends = 25.
  • /f add (username): (or /f a) Adds the account name to your friends list. Maximum friends = 25.
  • /f add (charactername): (or /f a) Adds the account name to your friends list. Maximum friends = 25.
  • /friends remove (accountname): (or /f r) Removes that account from your friends list.
  • /friends msg (message): (alias: /f m) - Sends the message to everyone on your friends list. (Use sparingly to avoid getting squelched.)
  • /friends promote (accountname) (or /f p) Moves that friend up one slot (or to the inputted number) in your friends list.
  • /friends demote (accountname) (or /f d) Moves that friend down one slot (or to the inputted number) in your friends list.

Ignore Commands[edit]

Ways to control the messages you see.

  • /options ignorepublic (or /o igpub) - Ignore messages in public chat channels from anyone who isn't in your friends list.
  • /options unignorepublic (or /o unigpub) - Re-allows messages in public chat channels from anyone who isn't in your friends list.
  • /options ignoreprivate (or /o igpriv) - While in private channels you will not receive messages from anyone who isn't on your friends list.
  • /options unignoreprivate (alias: /o unigpriv) - While in private channels you will not receive messages from anyone who isn't on your friends list.
  • /options ignorewhispers (or /o igw) - Ignore whispers from anyone who isn't in your friends list.
  • /options unignorewhispers (or /o unigw) - Re-allows whispers from all users.

In-game Commands[edit]

These only work when typed into the chat box while playing the game. Many of the Chat Channel commands work in-game too, including all of the various messaging and ignoring controls.

A shortcut for repeating commands in game is to hit enter to open the chat box, and then use the up/down arrows to cycle through commands you sent out previously in that game. You can resend the same ones, or backspace to delete portions.

  • /framerate: Displays the same stats as /fps, but also includes some memory allocation information.
  • /fps: Shows ingame framerate. 25 is the maximum display rate for Diablo II.
  • /nopickup: Stops your character from picking up any items in that game unless holding the show item key (Alt). Useful for speed runs.
  • /players 1-8: Only in v1.09 and later. Only single player. Simulates more players in the game to increase drops and game difficulty. Can not be set to a lower number than the players in the game. See players x page for details.
  • /soundchaosdebug: Plays a jumble of every sound in the game. Type the command again to turn it off.
  • /time: Displays your local time and Battle.net server time.

Chat Shortcuts[edit]

These are basic Windows commands that work in Battle.net chat.

  • CTRL-X: Cuts the selected text
  • CTRL-C: Copies the selected text
  • CTRL-V: Pastes the selected text
  • CTRL-A: Select all text
  • CTRL-N: Pastes the name you have selected

Add any commands after that, with a space between them. For instance:

As the second expansion, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is everything a great follow up should be. Blizzard actually took control of this one and it really does show. If you already liked Diablo II then without a doubt, you will freak out and have awesome time with Lord of Destruction.

Meet My Brother

The story of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is awesome and actually way deeper and more interesting than you may expect from an expansion. It adds a brand new act onto Diablo II. You may wonder how you carry on after what happened with Diablo at the end of the main game. However, things are not good as the brother of Diablo, Baal is causing havoc and you need to head to the lands of the Barbarians, destroy the World Stone and save the day. I thought the story was awesome and actually, they could have maybe even made a full-on game about this concept.

Diablo 2 Gameplay Trailer

What Is New?

While the story is great, an expansion really is only as good as the extra content that it is bringing to the dance. The first thing that is worth noting is that Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is the game that introduced, The Assassin and The Druid class to the world of Diablo. Getting two new classes to play as was awesome and I actually played through the whole act as both classes.

That is not all. Diablo II: Lord of Destruction also gives you lots of new enemies and skills. You can really get in there deep and customize your character just the way you want. The amount of time you can spend playing with the runes and getting the character you really want is just insane! There are new enemies’ items, animations and more. It really is quite impressive the amount of new content in addition to the story and classes that the game has.

The gameplay is nothing “new” but they did not need to change this aspect of Diablo II. It plays like a charm and I think one of the main things that so many people love about this game is that it is easy for new players to figure out. On the flip side of that, you can really master this game and become an epic warrior!

Play With Friends

Thanks to Battlenet, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction had an awesome multiplayer community going along with it. While I enjoyed playing the game in single-player, playing with a couple of friends is an experience I will always remember. It is cool how they will let you play with 7 other warriors. So if you have enough friends, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction can be quite the amazing multiplayer experience for all those involved.

I think that Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is a fantastic addition to Diablo II. I would bet many people have just ignored this (well those new to the series) and just jump into Diablo III. That is a huge mistake as Lord of Destruction is a wonderful experience that may not be super long, but it is an experience that is well worth having.

Pros:

  • The two new classes are fun to play as
  • Tons of new skills and buffs to enhance your characters with
  • Tons of new content in general
  • The story is actually very well done
  • The multiplayer is fantastic

Cons:

  • It is a bit on the short side
  • The story is so good; it could have been its own full game!
